All hemp products that do not contain CBD, THC or other cannabinoids must be permitted by Amazon policy, have the ingredients attribute populated correctly and be described appropriately.
The content below is for guidance only. Amazon reserves the right to remove any listing it considers to be inappropriate for sale for any reason.
All listings and products must comply with all laws and regulations.
Cannabidiol (CBD) is one of a range of cannabinoids found in Cannabis plants. Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) is another common cannabinoid and is the main psychoactive constituent of Cannabis. Cannabis is a flowering plant that consists of three primary species: Cannabis sativa, Cannabis indica and Cannabis ruderalis.
The listing and sale of ingestible hemp products, including lozenges, e-liquids, sprays and oils that contain CBD or other cannabinoids are prohibited on Amazon.co.uk, except for sellers participating in a limited, invite-only pilot. This pilot only applies to products listed on Amazon.co.uk and is not available on other Amazon websites. The pilot is not accepting additional sellers currently.
The term “hemp” is often used to refer to varieties of Cannabis that generally contain lower concentrations of THC and higher concentrations of CBD, and are grown for industrial use (e.g. for clothing, rope etc.).
The only ingestible hemp products that are permitted for sale on Amazon.co.uk are those products that contain cold-pressed hemp seed oil from the Cannabis sativa plant, and that do not contain CBD, THC or other cannabinoids.
To continue listing these products, you must meet all of the requirements outlined below and on the Drugs, Drug Paraphernalia and Dietary Supplements Seller Policy page.
All hemp products that do not meet the requirements listed above and on the Drugs, Drug Paraphernalia and Dietary Supplements Seller Policy page will be removed.
Fortunately, your product listing’s backend ‘search terms’ box is where you can list all of your relevant keywords without restrictions. So here, for example, you can enter CBD, cannabidiol, cannabis, marijuana etc…
You can also use social proof to build trust and credibility, like great customer reviews, press coverage, or annual customer numbers from your ecommerce site.
3. You can’t mention serious health conditions
– Can I trust that this is a genuine product?
– Is it the highest quality product I can buy?
– Is it worth the high cost?
– Will it do what it says it is going to do?
Before you can start selling, however, there are a few things you need to know…
Please use the checklist below to be sure your product can be sold on Amazon.
“Controlled substances” are drugs that are illegal, such as cocaine or heroin. Products used with controlled substances may be considered drug paraphernalia. Drug paraphernalia includes products primarily intended or designed for use in making, preparing, or using a controlled substance.
This page covers drugs, controlled substances, and drug paraphernalia. A drug is a substance used to diagnose, cure, treat, or prevent diseases in people or animals. Drugs can also be used to change the structure or function of the body, such as to treat some kinds of acne. Some drugs require a prescription for sale, such as most antibiotics, while other drugs may be sold without a prescription because they are approved by the FDA to be sold over the counter.

Amazon specifically prohibits the following drug products, controlled substances, and products imitating drug products and controlled substances. These products are prohibited because they do not meet the checklist requirements. This list does not include all drug products prohibited by Amazon.
